The Mai'tan oraculum is a Tan'ji which grants the power to observe the flows of the Medium. Its current Keeper is Mr. Meister.
Background[]
Description[]
The Mai'tan oraculum is a thick, round lens which Mr. Meister keeps set into the left side of his glasses.
Properties[]
The oraculum allows its Keeper to see through Tanu and observe patterns in their energies. The Keeper can observe the intended flows of the Medium in an instrument even when it is not being used. Ultimately, the Keeper can use the oraculum determine the origin, strength, condition, and even the function of Tanu, although some of this knowledge may come from study rather than intuition, as the oraculum takes a great deal of skill to use properly.
The Keeper can also see the talents of other potential Keepers, as well as making inferences from the ink of the Vora, although these seem to be weaker or less reliable powers.
Trivia[]
- When wearing the Mai'tan oraculum, Mr. Meister's eye seems noticeably larger than usual. Hence, it must either be paired with a correctional lens or designed for use by someone extremely farsighted.
- The Mai'tan oraculum is described as "a cut above" other oracula.
