Dumindars are a type of Tan'kindi which, when crushed, produce an extremely strong spherical shield known as the dumin.

Description[]

Dumindars are marble-like spheres larger than ravens' eyes and milky white in color; they can be worn as a pendant.

Properties[]

When crushed, a dumindar produces the dumin: a shining, transparent, spherical shield which is almost completely impassable and cannot be shattered by force. As the dumin appears, a deep, pure, thrumming note sounds, a shockwave hits those standing inside the dumin's radius, and the scent of flowers is released.

The dumin is a powerful protection, but can only last for a few short minutes. Once expended, it flickers out of sight with a faint crackling noise.

The dumin is practically impregnable and is designed specifically to protect from those using passkeys. The only known force capable of breaching the dumin is the Alvalaithen, which allows its Keeper passage through the shield.

Dumindars are considered less powerful among Tan'kindi.

Trivia[]

  • Mr. Meister keeps a delicate white sphere in his office which seems similar to a dumindar, but smaller. It's possible that dumindars, and thus the dumin, can be made in different sizes.
